A core design principle for our materials development program is to support closed loop manufacturing, or what is sometimes referred to as The Circular Economy.
A truely circular material flow is difficult to achieve when the source material is derived from crude oil, but as a stepping stone towards a far higher degree of resource efficiency we try to enable manufacturers to approach zero solid waste when using our materials.
That includes both our own supply chain (so filament and powder production) and downstream customers, where we offer a zero cost production waste takeback scheme. In other words we’ll take production wastes, like offcuts or quality control failures, from customers and recycle them ourselves at no charge. The customer just has to get them to us and make sure they aren’t contaminated with other raw materials.
Our range of materials have a common chemistry and we can blend those wastes back into our recycling stream or use them in our own processes, such as in R&M and test cycles.
