There has been a great deal of concern about the availability of medical equipment and asociated supplies during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

To be clear our material is not rated for medical use but there will be components and associated items that can be printed at home or in small businessess, or injection moulded in SMEs. If we can displace medical grade material from areas where it is not an absolute requirement then those critical materials will go further.

Our material is thermally robust (it will take a boil wash) and when well printed can be watertight. It can also withstand bleaching and is impact resistant. In short we feel that there will be applications.

But it is also not an easy print and we still wouldn’t recommend it for novice 3D printers so we’ve taken the decision to drop prices by 50% for the next 3 months. We’ll leave design detail to those who are better qualified but we will do our very best to supply high quality nylon, both in filament and in micro-pellet form.

That’s what we can do to help.

We’ll be working with 3D Printing Cornwall to produce a detailed printing tips sheet in the near future.
